Charge your watch fully for the first use
The first thing you have to do just after taking your watch out from the box is, charging. You’ll see a red light indicator while the watch is charging. And, when the charge will complete, it turns green.

- When you’re on the main screen of your Samsung Galaxy watch, rotate it’s bezel right or left to select ‘Settings.’
- Open ‘Settings.’
- Then select ‘Security.’
- Choose ‘Lock.’ You’ll see a different type of lock option, including, PIN and pattern.
- Select and set the lock you want to use to unlock your Galaxy watch.
Pair your Samsung Galaxy watch to a device
This is the important step of setting up process. In order to control your watch, manage apps, watch faces, health, and setting, you need to connect it with a smartphone through Galaxy wearable app. Here is how to pair a Samsung Galaxy watch to a smartphone.
- Take that device you want to connect the watch with.
- Then, download and install the ‘Galaxy Wearable’ app from the application store. Your Android device must be running Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or newer version. If you’ve already had the app installed on the device, then make sure it is on the latest version.
- Open the ‘Galaxy Wearable app.
- Tap on ‘Start the Journey.’
- Select ‘Create account’ option to make an account or provide your Samsung account credentials to login into the app.
- Once you complete these initial setups, the app will guide you for the pairing process.
- Make sure the Bluetooth of your Android device is active.
- Now, move to your watch and start it if not already. You’ll see a message on your watch screen with the pairing code.
- Wait for your device to detect the watch.
- Tap the ‘Tick’ symbol to pair.
- Now, accept the pairing request on both the devices and wait for pairing to complete.
Once the pairing process finishes, your watch will be ready to use. You can now add apps, view heart rate, activities, and exercise on it.
How to use a Samsung Galaxy Watch

Move through apps and screens: You can use your watch touch screen and a rotating bezel to move through apps and screens. Rotate the watch’s bezel right or left to see notifications, switch between screens, open applications. Alternatively, you can swipe the watch’s screen to do the same.
Viewing and responding messages: Samsung Galaxy watch doesn’t just show the notifications, you can reply to message in various ways direct from it. Rotate the bezel or swipe up on the screen to view and reply to the received message. Then select ‘Edit responses’ to enter your message. Now, decide how you want to enter your message, Doodle, Voice Input, Emoji, Handwriting, or through Keyboard mode.
Answering and rejecting a call: Rotate the bezel or swipe the screen to answer a call. To reject the call with a message, swipe up on the watch screen and select a decline message.
You can also make a call right from your Samsung Galaxy Watch, but for this, it must be connected to your smartphone or LTE.
Finding your lost Samsung Galaxy watch: If you forget your watch somewhere, then through your paired smartphone, you can locate its location.
- Launch ‘Galaxy Wearable’ app.
- Go to ‘Settings’ and then ‘Find My Watch.’
- Hit ‘Start.’
