How to Disable Avast Security Program in your PC

Undoubtedly, having a good antivirus program installed on your PC is essential for the device and data security. And Avast antivirus has a reputed name in the world of security. There are multiple ways to disable the antivirus program in a Windows computer. You can also disable individual shields such as file protection, email protection, and web protection or the entire antivirus in your device.
Here is how to disable Avast security program in your PC
Disabling an individual shield of Avast antivirus
 If you’re trying to use a web application, just disable the Avast web shield instead of the entire program. Doing so, keep all other shields activated and your device protection. Here is how to disable an individual shield of Avast antivirus.
  1. Look for the orange symbol of Avast antivirus at the left side of the taskbar or in the notification area.
  2. Click on the ‘Avast’ symbol to open the user interface of the antivirus.
  3. Now, open the ‘Protection’ tab from the left side menu. Under the protection tab, you’ll see all the areas of protection of Avast antivirus.
  4. Click on ‘Core Shields.’
  5. On the Core Shields screen, you’ll see the shields active on your device.
  6. Now, look for the shield you want to disable and then click the ‘Checkmark’ of it. Doing so disable that individual Avast shield in your PC.
  7. A confirmation box will now pop-up on the screen, ask you to confirm disabling the shield. Select a time duration option to confirm.
  8. Click on ‘OK’ on the secondary confirmation box if pop-up.
Doing so disable that individual Avast shield for the time duration you’ve chosen. You’ll also see the ‘OFF’ status on the disabled shield. After it, you can close the Avast antivirus window and try running or installing the application. When you’re done installing or running the application, return to the Core Shields screen and enable the shield you’ve disabled.
Disabling the entire shields of Avast antivirus
Disabling shields one by one takes a lot of your time and extra steps. To save this time, you can disable all the Avast shields at once in easy steps. Here is how.
  1. Look for the orange symbol of Avast antivirus at the left side of the taskbar or in the notification area and right-click on it.
  2. Go to ‘Avast shields control.’ A sub-menu shows you the time duration options.
  3. Select for how long you want to disable the Avast shields.
  4. Confirm disabling, when confirmation box pop-up.
All the shields of Avast antivirus will be disabled in your PC for your chosen time duration. Now, you can proceed to run or install the application. Don’t forget to enable the Avast shields again after finishing your work.
